Take a trip to paradise at The Byron at Byron Resort and Spa, the perfect destination for a wedding, honeymoon, engagement celebration or ladies escape.
Hi, Micaela the Luna + Honey editor here! I recently took a trip to the incredibly beautiful Byron Bay with my two best friends to experience The Byron at Byron Resort and Spa. Oh my goodness where on Earth do I even begin, the short version is that it's truly one of the best places I have ever stayed, it felt like we were transported to luxury paradise.
Once you arrive you feel like you are a million miles away from anyone and everything else (really it's only five minutes drive into town), it's intimate and tranquil. The resort is set within a 45 acre sub tropical rainforest which makes for beautiful relaxing walks around the premises.
The Byron at Byron is the kind of resort that has so much on offer you could easily spend days there without leaving the property, from yoga classes, tennis courts, the pool, sauna, bikes to ride, a beautifully curated boutique, award winning dining and of course the spa, it's easy to become immersed and shut off the outside world.
There are three room types - Standard Room, Superior Suite and Deluxe Spa Suite. we stayed in one of the Deluxe Spa Suites, which are adults only and located in secluded area of the resort.
Our room was about a 10 minute walk from reception so one of the cool things about the resort are the golf buggies they use to drive you to and from the room when needed. However the walk is also easy and the perfect opportunity to spot native wildlife - there was the cutest wallaby with a baby in her pouch that we kept seeing near our room. The room itself makes you feel like you're in a luxe tropical tree house, there are two enclosed balconies where you can sit and unwind in privacy and a huge spa bath to chill out in. There is a lounge and dining area and enclosed kitchen. It was so peaceful.
There is a reason that time and time again The Byron at Byron Restaurant is recommended as the place to eat. It's clear that they love local produce and creating interesting and delicious food. There is also a fantastic selection of wine on offer and cocktails. Even the breakfast was exquisite, lots of options and food made to order as well as buffet stocked with a lots of fresh food next to breakfast favourites. Do yourself a favour and try the muffins at breakfast! Again nothing was too much trouble and the staff went out of their way to meet our dietary requirements and even made some off menu things for us including fresh juice smoothies.
AKA heaven, the worst part about the spa was deciding what treatments to go with (we wanted them all). There are vegan and pregnancy treatments, literally something for everyone. I chose three 30 minute treatments done in one 90 minute session - something I highly suggest if you want a few different things but are short on time. My treatments were massage, scalp oil treatment and superior foot revival; all wonderfully relaxing however the scalp oil treatment was pure magic and my recommendation. My hair felt silky and soft for a week after the treatment, my girlfriends also had the scalp oil and felt the same way. The spa is a blissfully tranquil space with a plunge pool for guests to enjoy before and after their treatments.
From the moment we arrived until we departed everything was perfect, I can't say that about anywhere else I have stayed. To say the staff went above and beyond is an understatement, nothing was a problem or too much trouble, we even had the lovely general manager offer to drive us into town on multiple occasions. Everyone was so friendly and helpful and that extended beyond the resort and includes everyone in Byron we encountered.
