On a beautiful spring day in St Kilda, Joanna and Matt said their "I do's" in a church wedding in front of their family and friends. It was a day brimming with special moments captured and made into memories by the talented Aleksandar Jason.

Wedding date: November 2017

Wedding location: St Kilda, Victoria

Number of guests: 150+

Ceremony time: 4pm

Reception time: From 6:30pm

Tell us about how you met and about the proposal…

We had been travelling in the USA for a couple of weeks after Joanna had spent three months there for work. We missed each other quite alot over those three months and while gone, Matt organised the engagement ring to propose once we got back home. Grace, Joanna’s sister had organised for the champagne rose petals and candles to be set up and once we got home from the airport the surprise of Matt proposing was the best way to end our trip.

Where was the location of your wedding ceremony and reception?

The wedding was at St Mary’s Church St Kilda East and Reception at Royal Melbourne Yacht Squadron. We only saw a couple, the location of the harbour room with their gorgeous views was what sold us, it was also fantastic value for money with all the inclusions we received.

How did you find your location?

Online and in person searching.

What was the vibe or theme of your wedding?

We wanted quite a formal vibe but guests to feel relaxed and able to mingle easily. The florist created beautiful arrangements of mainly greenery which we loved - we didn’t want to much color or flowers as the theme was not overly feminine.

How easy or hard was it to plan your wedding?

We were really glad we spent time planning and didn’t rush any details. It helped make getting married more about just the one day and we had fun throughout the planning. So glad I had so many talented friends who helped us with so many details which made it easier.

What was your favourite part of your wedding day?

As a couple I think we both enjoyed the ceremony the most, standing in the church knowing all the preparation and planning had come to that moment and it was a perfect as could be. That was pretty special.

What vendors are you glad you used on your wedding day?

Ross at Bloom Boy - wow he is amazing. We were pretty relaxed and casual about what we wanted and gave him the ability to do what he thought would work best and we could not of loved it more. Very impressed.

Aleks - our photographer, we were so amatuer at the start with wedding planning and talking with suppliers, Aleks was like a friend and his ‘don’t worry I have done this plenty of times’ attitude meant were were never worried or nervous when he was around.

Is there anything you would have done differently?

Do it slowly, if things get heated in discussion between you both open, a bottle of wine.
