MIRIEMME + CALLAN

December 17, 2017

On a beautiful winter afternoon, Miriemme and Callan exchange vows in a low key ceremony on the Blackall Range overlooking the Sunshine Coast hinterland. Captured by Aleksandar Jason, see their panoramic wedding shots and debut as a married couple...

Wedding date: July 2nd, 2017

Wedding location: Maleny, Queensland

Number of guests: 80

Ceremony time: From 4pm

Reception time: From 6:30pm

Tell us about how you met and about the proposal…

Callan: I proposed in the Kruger National Park while we were on holiday in South Africa. I grew up near there, so it is a very sentimental place for me.

Where was the location of your wedding ceremony and reception?

We did not visit any other venues. We were after something low-maintenance, where we would have to worry as little as possible about the many details associated with planning a wedding. We chose Weddings at Tiffanys because they offered everything in one place, from the chapel, to the catering and the flowers. Most of all, we were drawn in by the beautiful view.

What was the vibe or theme of your wedding?

Mimi: I always envisioned a wedding neutral in tones. I originally thought I would have the bridesmaids in white, however once I chose my dress in off-white lace with a rose gold lining, I decided that pale blush, and mink tones would blend in best.

What are you glad you did on your special day?

Mimi: I was so pleased with the flowers on the day.  On the morning after the wedding I made the last minute decision to have my bouquet preserved.  I spent the drive home researching a vendor who would be happy for me to drop it off.  I can’t wait to get it back early next year.

What advice would you give a couple planning a destination wedding in this location?

Try not to stress out too much - everything will work out fine in the end.

What was your favourite part of your wedding day?

Mimi: Walking down the aisle was very special.  Callan and I came in together, and I think it really amplified the anticipation amongst the guests.

Callan: Definitely the cake - it was delicious.

What are you glad that you did on your wedding day?

We stayed together in a big beautiful house with a bunch of our family on the wedding weekend. It felt like a holiday, and was nice to be surrounded by our favourite people.
