Moonlight Head on Victoria’s Great Ocean Road couldn’t have been a more picturesque setting for couple Amelia and Simon’s rustic wedding. Perched on the headland, their guests were well catered for, able to celebrate with the pair into the night, and then set up camp on the rural property where both the ceremony and reception were held.

Wedding date: March 12th 2016

Wedding location: Moonlight Head, VIC

Number of guests: 100

Bridal Party: Five bridesmaids, one best man and three groomsmen

Ceremony time: 3pm – 3:45pm

Reception time: From 6pm

Tell us about the proposal…

Simon was waiting for me to get home from work in our carport down on one knee. He said he wanted to propose to me in our home where we will grow old together.

Where was the location of your wedding ceremony and reception and why did you choose it?

Our ceremony and reception was held on a friend’s property. We both love The Otways but also love the ocean and this location gave us both.

What was the vibe or theme of your wedding?

Where did the majority of your guests stay?

Our guests either camped or stayed in Princetown.

What was your chosen entertainment?

For music and entertainment we had our first dance to Van Morrison’s ‘Moon Dance’ which was performed by Crossfire Hurricane.

Did you organise transportation for your guests?

We organised a bus for some of the guests, but most of them camped on the property.

What did you like about having a destination wedding?

It was so unique.

What was your favourite part of your wedding day?

I don't think I could pick one part, I loved the whole day!

Is there anything you would have done differently?

I would get flooring for the Marquee (I thought there would be grass but there wasn't).
