For the Sunshine Coast’s Elleah and Brent, planning their dream wedding was more enjoyable than nerve-wracking. “We both found it such a fun experience as we are both super organised so we didn’t have many stressful times,” Elleah says, adding she would advise other couples getting married to enjoy every moment and not to sweat the small stuff. It all came together, with the historic Yandina Station in Queensland’s countryside giving them the relaxing vibes they were going for.

Tell us about the proposal…
Elleah – We were in Bali, relaxing & enjoying Cocktails in our own private Cabana on the beach and just before Sunset, Brent asked me to be his wife. I was completely shocked but it was the best day of my life until our wedding day!
Brent – The proposal was so much fun for me, I enjoyed every minute of it from going to the jewellers and having a ring made, to planning our holiday to Bali where I was popping the question. And finally making it through security at the airport with the ring in my pocket (I was body searched twice!). After an amazing day enjoying cocktails in our private Cabana, just before the sunset I asked Elle to marry me (nervous as, might I add!) and she was completely shocked… Notably the best day of my life.
Why did you choose to have your wedding at Yandina Station and how did you find it?
We loved Yandina Station from the moment we saw it. From the big Dairy Barn to the views overlooking the cattle property we knew this was where we wanted to say ‘I do’. We found it on Pinterest and Instagram.
How many guests did you have at your wedding?
There were 84.
Did you have an itinerary or activities planned for guests for the days on either side of your wedding day?
Brent’s sisters and Mum organised a surprise high tea at Flaxton Gardens the day before our Wedding with all of my girlfriends and Brent organised all of the boys to go Go-karting and beer drinking!
What was the vibe or theme of your wedding and what was the inspiration behind choosing it?
We went with a Boho Luxe theme for our wedding. I think we created a very fun and relaxing vibe for our day as both Brent & I are very laid back people, we wanted to enjoy the day as much as possible and take it all in without our nerves taking over.
What flowers did you have in your bridal bouquet?
Loose and rustic bouquet of flannel flower, blushing bride, king proteas, burgundy leucadendrons, billy buttons, lilac hyacinth, blush hypericum berry, gum, wattle and privet berry.
Describe your wedding cake…
It was a 7”4-layer cake, with alternating layers of honeycomb vanilla bean, chocolate chip, caramel, coconut and pistachio. The frosting was coconut, with a naked iced look, caramel dripping sauce and all topped with native flowers.
What was your favourite moment from your wedding day?
Seeing each other for the first time since the afternoon prior to the wedding. Walking down the aisle to see Brent standing at the end crying was such an emotional yet happy time! I think I married a big softy!
What are you glad that you did on your wedding day?
Spending money on Styling and Videographer.
Is there anything you would have done differently?
We both wish we could have made the day and night go longer so we could Dance and be with our family and friends! The day goes sooo fast!
